Why the book Sugar Busters and the American Cookbook of diabetes so different?
My husband has recently discovered he is diabetic. We bought the book Sugar Busters and it seems the American cookbook of diabetes have several things in recipes that Sugar Busters says to avoid. These two books are great, but I back to what I'm confused. Thanks for any information you can give me.
I'm not familiar with the other book, but the important thing to remember is AT diabetes Type II is a lifestyle disease. Your husband needs to change his diet (with the consumption of bad carbohydrates but moderate in carbohydrates), exercise at least 30 minutes day, 4-5 days a week and Lose Weight. For most, should stay away from white sugar, white flour and salt. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Eat carbs moderately complex. It takes some time to read and learn which foods are good carbs and how much. Also with medication and diet changes, your spouse should be aware of how food affects it. good luck.
