As soon as I sent this recipe from my vintage website I started receiving messages from readers about how they had enjoyed this does foot and could not find the recipe. There is nothing more beautiful than a recipe that we remember from childhood or back when we got married, so I wanted to share with readers of this recipe Now, if you want to make this move for your vacation. Perhaps this recipe will bring you back in time, too.
PINEAPPLE PIE Cream Cheese
This is a recipe for an old Recipe Book from the Northeast SU.
1 pie crust 9-inch unbaked
Fruit layer:
1 / 3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon tablespoons cornstarch
1 (8 ounces) crushed pineapple in its own juice
In a small saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and pineapple (do not drain). Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture is thickened and clear. Set aside and let cool.
Once cooled, spread the mixture in bottom of pie crust ingredients.
Cream Cheese Layer:
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened room temperature
Sugar 1 / 2 cup
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
Milk 1 / 2 cup
1 / 2 c. Vanilla Tea
1 / 4 cup chopped walnuts
Mix cream cheese, sugar and salt in a bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add milk and vanilla. (It's okay if the mixture appears curdled.) Pour the mixture over the pineapple layer in the crust. Sprinkle chopped nuts over all. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 325 degrees and bake for 50 minutes. Cool before cutting.
